People are stunned by what she really looks like

The so-called “zombie” Angelina Jolie lookalike has finally unveiled her true face after being released from prison.

Sahar Tabar, whose real name is Fatemah Khishvand, first gained viral fame in 2017 when she shocked social media with eerie, heavily edited Instagram photos that transformed her into a haunting, ‘zombified’ version of the Maleficent star.

While her bizarre appearance catapulted her to internet stardom, it also had unexpected consequences—ones that ultimately turned her viral success into a nightmare.\

Sahar Tabar rose to international fame in 2017 for her eerie, exaggerated appearance, which she crafted using a mix of makeup, photo editing, and possibly cosmetic procedures. Her haunting transformation sparked both fascination and controversy across social media.

However, in October 2019, her viral stardom took a dark turn when she was arrested by Iranian authorities as part of a wider crackdown on social media influencers, according to BBC News.

Tabar faced severe charges, including blasphemy, inciting violence, earning income through improper means, and corrupting the youth. Iran’s strict moral and censorship laws often target individuals promoting what is perceived as Western or anti-Islamic ideals, Al Jazeera reports.

By December 2020, she had been sentenced to ten years in prison. Yet, after serving just 14 months, The Guardian confirmed that she was granted a conditional release in mid-December of that year.

Since her release, the social media sensation made a surprising appearance on the state-owned channel Rokna, revealing her true face to the world—leaving the internet in shock.

Reactions poured in from stunned viewers, with many reflecting on the deeper implications of her transformation and imprisonment.

One user wrote, “It’s amazing how many people put so much thought into what others do to feel comfortable in their own skin. Maybe if judgment and criticism weren’t so common, fewer people would feel the need to change themselves.”

Another offered words of support, simply saying, “Prayers for her.”

A third user voiced a more critical take, writing, “Wow! It’s heartbreaking to see the extremes people go to for fame… Instead of sentencing her to prison, they should have addressed her struggles with body dysmorphia.”

For years, many believed that Sahar Tabar’s eerie Instagram appearance was the result of extreme plastic surgery gone wrong. However, she has now set the record straight—revealing that her shocking transformation was largely achieved through makeup and heavy Photoshop editing.

“What you saw on Instagram was the computer effects I used to create the image,” she explained. “Cyberspace was an easy way. It was much easier than becoming an actor.”

Despite this, Tabar has acknowledged undergoing some cosmetic procedures, including a nose job and lip fillers. She also admitted that she had been altering her images since 2017, crafting an illusion that left the internet both captivated and misled.

Sahar Tabar revealed to Russian news outlet Sputnik that her viral transformation was never meant to be taken seriously—it was simply a way to entertain herself.

“Now I can see that I have something in common with [Angelina Jolie], but I amuse myself, and looking like someone else was never my goal,” she explained.

She described her online persona as a form of self-expression, saying, “Each time I posted a photo, I made my face more fun and exaggerated—it was a kind of art.” She also emphasized that her followers were well aware that the images didn’t reflect her real face.

In 2019, Tabar reportedly deleted her Instagram account, just before her arrest. Iran, known for its strict internet censorship, has banned several major social media platforms, including Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).

Now, after years of mystery and speculation, Tabar is making headlines once again—this time, for finally revealing her true face to the world.

During her revealing appearance on Rokna, Sahar Tabar opened up about the impact of her internet persona, admitting that she had ignored her mother’s concerns.

“My mother was telling me to stop, but I didn’t listen,” she confessed. “Sometimes, the words of a stranger or a friend can feel more important than those of a parent.”

Reflecting on her viral fame, Tabar acknowledged that her controversial posts— which she now describes as “vulgarity”— ultimately catapulted her into the spotlight. However, the cost of that fame was far greater than she had ever anticipated. another one
